The Downside of Working At Home Many dream of doing their work at home without even thinking about the cons of what the job may bring. After graduating college, I did what every new graduate aspires to be. I printed about a hundred copies of my resume and immediately seek employment. After years of being tied up in school, I guess it's only natural to pursue employment the way we do. We aggressively search for jobs that relates to what we labored for in college. It didn't take months before I found myself in a cubicle working for a multi-national corporation. Contentment seemed like it would soon follow. To cut the story short, after a year or so, the cubicle became a tougher prison than what a school could ever be. Through every workweek, I make a run down of every frustration cliché in the book. Thoughts like "dragging myself out of bed", "I'm going to go the moment I find an alternative", and finally, the classic "they're not paying me enough for this" all went through my head regularly. I went through that routine for five years. I got out when I learned how to make money on the internet. Making money on the internet is more of learning than having the skill for it. It wouldn't allow you in right away. I had to learn the ropes first for half a year before I made some measly amount. It would take another half a year before my earning through mainly blogging was decent enough. That was when I became confident to talk to my boss and tell them that I'm not coming back tomorrow. At the end of that day, I'm telling you, the pathway I was taking for the past five years became like a park. It was as if I had never laid my eyes on those sceneries. The world became a playground for me knowing that I wouldn't be forced to go to any place just to earn a living. That was two years ago. To this day, I never missed being in a cubicle. Although, I still miss the water cooler talks with friends, I have now managed to find alternatives. What I do miss though are the activities. You see, when you're working on an office, you get the chance to take the stairs, walk for at least several kilometers a day if you think about it, and you get the chance regularly to go places with coworkers. Those are workouts right there. On the other hand, through online work, I mostly just spend my day at home, in front of my computer. As a result, I'm already developing deposits I never thought I'd have in by abs. To combat this, I have learned of various supplements; one of which that I find most effective are based on garcinia extracts. I discovered it through social networking sites as I usually do now since it's basically what replaced those water cooler discussions for me. |
